I have over 20 years DTP/graphic design experience. My career started out in 1998 when I landed my first job straight out of matric at a local printing company working as the advert and layout designer for their community newspaper called “Community News”. It was there that I discovered my love of layout and design and I never looked back as the saying goes.
Nine years later I moved and started working in a small design agency called “Flying Ant Designs”. I was responsible for the design and layout of various monthly publications which included the Jewish magazine, Hashalom and the SPCA magazine, Animal Angle.
I did typesetting of book layouts for self-publishing authors, designed Christmas crackers, wrapping paper, did below the line work for Nando’s and anything else that came across my desk.
After seven years I moved to Mum’s Mail, a monthly family focused magazine. It was there that I designed all the adverts as well as did the layout for 3 monthly magazines and a quarterly print directory. I was involved with basic website maintenance using wordpress and social media work. I stayed with Mum’s Mail until COVID hit hard and the company had to close, retrenching all the staff in February 2021.
In October 2021 I started working at an advertising and communications agency called 99c based in Cape Town. I am in the DTP department working on the OK Foods brand.
I have also been freelancing, and running my own small business, Wendy Offer Designs for the last 9 years
